Don’t be fooled by the name, a boutique resort is not what this is. But is it worth the money you pay, we would say Yes! The location is beautiful, the view from the rooms is gorgeous, although don’t expect a luxury stay.
Booking: We made a booking by calling their corporate office in Mumbai and the cash was collected by them. We booked a villa since we were a group of seven.
Travel: Igatpuri is not very difficult when it comes to directions. It’s just one long road with several by lanes. When you enter Igatpuri from the highway, Dew Drops is located at the extreme end of the road, just when you think the city has ended and boom! that’s where you’re staying.
Resort: Imagine entering a gate and all you can see is a couple of no frills villas with a view of the mountains and a cloudy sky overlapping all of this. Simply gorgeous. The location is just perfect, away from the city and in the midst of nature. The rooms however were not too impressive. A huge living room on the ground level and two bedrooms on the first level. The washrooms were not too well maintained and neither was the swimming pool which was almost like a baby pool. Nevertheless, the perfect drizzly weather and a little trek from the rear of the resort that lead to a gorgeous lake made up for the lack of amenities.
Restaurant: The restaurant had a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Multicuisine menu with some Indian, Chinese and Continental. The Indian dishes were delicious while the rest were just passable.
Overall, this one gets a thumbs up from us. Just if they work on their hygiene and service, we wouldn’t mind paying them some extra bucks.
Getting There: From Mumbai, you can take a direct train, Volvo bus or a hired cab. Igatpuri is about 120 km from Mumbai and would take you anywhere between 2-3 hours.
