Where To Stay: Nova Homestay, Alleppey

Homestays are basically guest houses that allow visitors and tourists to rent a room from a local family in a homelike setting. If you’re on a budget trip, Nova Homestay is our number one recommendation for a delightful and frill free stay.

Booking: We made a walk in reservation. The family greeted us warmly.

Travel: Nova Homestay is about a kilometer away from the main market. The closest landmark is the HMCA church which is quite popular.

Homestay: Nova is located quite close to the market and about 3 kilometers from the Alleppey Beach. The stay here includes breakfast and tea/coffee. The family that takes care of the homestay is extremely helpful and offers prompt service for anything that you need. They helped us in booking a bike and shared some local secrets.

The rooms at Nova are clean and spacious, a dining room, a bedroom, a bathroom and balconies with rocking chairs on the outside. You can breathe in fresh air and soak in the beauty of nature by simply sitting in the balcony.

There is no restaurant inside the homestay and the breakfast is served in the room from their kitchen.

Overall, we would totally recommend Nova to all budget travellers for its warm service, clean rooms and comfortable stay.

Getting There: Take a flight to Kochi Airport (Cochin) and hire a prepaid cab from the airport. Alleppey is about 84 kms from the airport.
